The General Managers,

Sub: Standard Agreement form for installation of Coin Vending 
Machines (CVMs) at Railway Stations to be signed between 
Railway and Public Sector Banks. 
Please refer to Board's letter of even number dated 03.07.2012 wherein 
instructions were issued to Zonal railways for installation of Coin Vending 
Machines (CVMs) at Railway Stations. 
In order to bring uniformity in the agreements signed by the Zonal Railways 
with the Public Sector Banks, a standard form of Agreement has been devised. A 
specimen copy of the Agreement form is enclosed. Board desire that in future the 
new Agreement should be done as per the enclosed agreement. 
This has the concurrence of Finance Directorate and vetted by Legal 
Directorate.

This Agreement is made at 
dais; of 2012 between President of India 
acting through General Manager 
Railways (or his authorised representative) 
hereinafter referred to as the Railway (which expression shall include the successors 
and assignors) on one part and Public sector Banks having its Corporate office at  
 
, herein after referred to as the Bank (which expression 
shall include its successors and assignees) on the other part. 
Now it is hereby agreed by the parties hereto as ifollows 
GENERA 
1.1 
The Railway hereby permits the Bank to operate Coin Vending Machines 
(CVMs) at the stations, mutually agreed between the parties on the terms and 
conditions hereinafter contained and subject to the rules and regulation in force 
of RBI &I or Ministry of Finance and rules/guidelines, laws and amendments 
issued froin time to time. 
On genuine grounds, e.g. non-availability of power/communication 
connectivity, it Bank is not in a position to install CVM at any 
Locationistatioil, that particular station may be substituted by another station of 
the same category with approval of the Railway. However, there will be no 
reduction in the charges payable on this account. 
1.3 
CVMs will be installed initially for a period of three years. This may be further 
extended for a period of three:, years subject to agreement of both Railways and 
the Bank on mutually accepted ternis. 
2. 
SPACE FOR CVM, LOCATION AN.D POWER REQUIREMENTS: 
2.1 
Railway agrees to allot space of adequate area to .Bank for installation of 
CVMs. 
2.2 No advertisement on CVM shall be permitted except the name and logo of the 
Bank. 
CVIVis will be installed at location identified by the Bank and Railways. It 
should in no way hinder the movement of passengers.

2.4 
The total no. of C V.Ms will be restricted to four at each booking office in A-1 
category stations and maximum of . two at each booking office at other category 
of stations. 
2.5 
Electricity will be provided by Railways free of cost. Electrical wiring from the 
nearest electrical main supply point to the CVM duly protected by MCB will 
be drawn by the Bank. 
2 .6 The Bank shall maintain CVM at its own cost. The bank to the extent possible 
ensure that requisite amount of coins are available in CVMs at all times and 
ensure complaint free operation of the machines. 
The Branch Manager of respective link branch of the Bank will be contacted in 
case of shortage of coins and requirement of maintenance.
