Sub: Standardization of amenities for Freight terminals (Goods Shed) for
facilitating night loading/unloading.

Ref : (i) Item No. 2 of Hon’ble MR’s speech in General Manger’s
Conference held in Board’s Office on 26™ May, 2008
(ii) Boards Letter No. 2007/PL/25/1 dated 5/6/07

Hon’ble MR. during GM Conference held in Board’s Office has emphasized
for opening of new goods shed and improving amenities in old goods shed so that
loading/unloading can be done round the clock.

2.0 As there is no norms specified for standardization of illuminating level in
areas related with goods sheds. Based on BEE Code a policy has been framed to
specify illumination level at various points of goods shed at Annexe-A.

3.0  Fannage for goods yard shed has been recommended as per scale of
provision of fan at waiting room and offices at Railway stations as per Board’s
letter no. 86/Elec/1/138/1 dated 2.12.1988.

4.0 Railway must plan facilities based on above recommendations in all
existing/new goods shed. The feed back in this regard shall be submitted t Va
Office on six monthly basis.
