SUB: Freight charges for NMGs, GS coaches, 3A/2A coaches, and VPRs attached to Joint Parcel Product (JPP) Special trains. REF: Freight Marketing Circular no. 01 of 2023 dated 25.01.2023. anh In continuation of para B-(ii) of the Freight Marketing Circular No. 01 of 2023 dated 25.01.2023, Ministry of Railways further desires that when NMGs, GS coaches, 3A/2A coaches, and Refrigerated Parcel Vans (VPR) are utilized by attaching, either fully or partially, to Joint Parcel Product (JPP) Special trains, the applicable freight charges shall be as under: (i) If NMGs (including its variants, ie. NMGH, NMGHS, etc) and/or GS coaches are utilized by attaching, either fully or partially, in JPP Special trains due to operational reasons, the freight for these vehicles shall be charged at ‘JP-scale’ or ‘Round trip JP-scale’ (as the case may be) only. (ii) If 3A/2A coaches are utilized by attaching, either fully or partially, in JPP Special trains, the freight for these coaches shall be charged at ‘JP-scale + 20%’. Further, the consignor/ indentor shall be required to place indent for full 3A/2A coach(es), and pay freight for their full prescribed carrying capacity. In case of round-trip booking/ indenting of 3A/2A coaches, the ‘Round trip JP-scale’ shall be applicable - i.e., in case of round-trip booking/ indenting of 3A/2A coaches, the freight shall be charged at ‘round trip JP-scale + 20%.’ (iii) In case of attachment of Refrigerated Parcel Vans (VPR) in JPP Special trains, the instructions mentioned in sub-para-ii above (regarding the freight to be charged for 3A/2A coaches) shall be applicable. \ gta eA oo. Other terms and conditions prescribed for JPP Special trains shall remain applicable. These instructions shall be applicable with immediate effect. CRIS shall ensure necessary modifications in PMS and other systems associated with JPP, if any. This issues in consultation with Planning Directorate, and with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Railway Board.
