Sub : Permission for additional commodity under Special Freight Train
Operator (SFTO) Scheme.
Ref : Freight Marketing Master Circular /SFTO/2018/0 dated 02.07.2018.

Please refer to aforementioned Master Circular on Special Freight Train Operator Scheme
(SFTO) scheme.

2 Para 10.6 of the Master Circular is hereby amended as follows:
10.6 Loading of Other Commodities:

10.6.1In case loading in the empty direction is done by the operator, other than the
commodity for which he is registered, he shall get a freight rebate of 10% on the public
tariff for that commodity. The traffic to be paid by the SFTO after the concession shall
not be less than class 100.

10.6.2 In case loading of commodities, for which the operator is not registered as
well as of commodities not covered under SFTO policy (except restricted
commodities, viz. coal and coke, ores and minerals including iron ore), is done in
the loaded direction as specified in the approved circuit, no freight rebate under
this policy will be granted. Permission for loading of such commodities will be
granted (on case to case basis, subject to operation feasibility) by Railway Board
subject to operational feasibility.
