In terms of letters u/r, Railway Board has intimated about its plan to shortly conduct the 70o/o
Selection followed by 30% LDCE for frlling up of Group-B vacancies for the vacancy cycle
01.01.2025 to 31.12.2026 (incl. vacancies upto 30.06.2027) through centralized CBT. The Model
Calendar for the same is to follow shortly.

Accordingly, the 70o/o selectton, followed by 3I%LDCE, for formation of a combined panel of
Assistant Financial Advisers (Group-B) of Eastern Railway and Metro Railway/Kolkata is also planned
to be conducted through CBT for the said assessment period 01.01.2025 to 31.12.2026. In this
connection, it clarified that after ibrmation of fresh panels for selection/LDcE ibid, the empanelled
candidates may similarly be posted on either Railway depending upon the availability of vacancies.
However, all such employees who may be posted against Group-B post of Metro Railway on the basis
of Eastern Railway's panel, will hold a lien on Eastern Railway only and will not become Group-B
Officers of Metro Railway (Authority: Railway Board's letter no. E(GP)200512150 dated 03.08.2005 &
2r.02.2007).
3:
Eligibility:

3.1 To be etigible to appear in the Group-B Selection (70% quota), a candidate of this railway
should fulfil the following conditions as on 01.01.2,025 -
(a) (i) He/she should be a Group 'C' employee working in Level 6 and above in Pay Matrix
with 3 years of non-fortuitous service in Level 6 and above in Pay Matrix
(including non-fortuitous service rendered in the corresponding pre-revised grade pay).
(ii) He/she should have qualified in the Appendix-3 IREM examination.

(b) In the case of M6tro Railway/I(olkata, such Group-C staff who have been absorbed
in Accounts Department of Metro Railway/I(olkata shall only be considered eligible
if he/she fulfils the condition given at para 3.1 (a).

N.B.; In terms o/ Railway Board's letter No.E(GP)2024/2/28 dated 08.10.2024 (RBE No.93/2024)
and in modification of provisions of Para 203.4 of IREM Vol.I, it has been decided by Board that
henceforth, in respect of Selections (70%o) to Group-B posts in oll departments, all employees who
are elgible and who volunteer for the selection, should be considered without any limitation of
number, as is being done in case of Selection to the Group-B post of Assistant Personnel Officer.

Scheme of Examination:
Subsequent to the introduction of Objective type Multiple-choice Objective type questions for
promotion to Group-B posts in terms of instructions contained in Board's letter No. E(GP)201812131
dated 19.03.2019, following pattern of examination has been adopted, in terms of Railway Board's
letter no E(GP)20221214 dtd. 07.12.2022, for 70Yo Selection for Group-B post of AFA in Accounts
Department and the same shall be applicable for the subject 70Yo selection for 2025-26 -
a)
One paper on Professional Subject including optional
questions of 10 marks on Official Language Policy &
Rules.
100 marks
b)
Qualifying Marks
60 with relaxation as
per extant rules.
c)
Duration of Examination
2hrs.
