Sub: Pilot project to increase the utilization of ‘JPP-RCS” services.
Ref; FM Circular No. 02/2024, issued vide Board’s letter of even no. dated
24.01.2024,
Please refer to the FM Circular No, 02 of 2024, issued vide Board’s letter under
reference, wherein policy guidelines has been issued for the JPP-RCS services.
2. In this regard, suggestions have been received from Zonal Railways to introduce
provision of discount in freight in return direction of the “JPP-RCS" services. The matter
hhas been considered, and the Competent Authority has approved following as a Pilot
project:
A. Freight for consignments booked in Parcel Coach(es) of “JPP-RCS' services shall
be charged as under:
i, Freight for single joumey in forward trip shall be charged at ‘JP Scale”
ii, Freight for single journey in return trip shall be charged at ‘50% of the JP
Scale’; and
iii, Freight for round trip shall be charged at “JP Scale + 3:

Till the duration of the Pilot project, clause 12.2 of the FM Circular No. 2/2024
(i.e, JPP-RCS Policy) shall not be applicable.
3. These instructions are issued on experimental basis as a Pilot project, for an initial
period of 01 (one) year w.e.f. 01.04.2025, for all the JPP-RCS services running on 04
routes viz. “TKD-YPR’, ‘BIRD-SGTY’, ‘ST-NRPA’, and *RU-NZM’,
5. CRIS is requested to ensure necessary modifications in the *VAP’, including pre-
defining of forward and return trip of the above mentioned JPP-RCS services.
