Sub: Enhancement of MUTP Surcharge. . ,

Reference Ministry of Railway’s letter of even Number dated 25.08.2003. _
wherein MUTP Surcharge has been levied on ordinary single journey tickets and
season tickets issued for journeys within the notified suburban. sections of Mumbai on
Western and Central Railways.

2. Ministry of Railways has now decided to triple MUTP surcharge on above
mentioned tickets. The amount of existing & enhanced MUTP surcharge for
different classes of travel and distances of journeys will be as under:-

2. Other terms and conditions will remain same as mentioned in above letter.
3. The enhanced MUTP surcharge will be leviablé from the 1 January, 2013.

This enhanced surcharge will not leviable on ordinary single journey tickets and

'_ season tickets issued prior to 01.01.2013 and hence enhanced surcharge need not be

collected on ordinary single journey tickets and season tickets issued before
01.04.2013

4. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of
Railways
5. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately and

compliance ensured. Suitable modifications in various softwares may also be done on
top priority. Wide publicity may also be given
