(Commercial
Circular
No. 72 of 2006 )
Sub: Withdrawal of Manual Reservation Quota from the location~
wherecomputerisedPRSfacilityisprovided.
.
As per extant practice whenever Computerised Passenger Reservation
System (PRS) facility is provided at any location, the manual reservation quota
available, if any, at that location is withdrawn and merged either with the
reservation quota of the nearest remote "locationor that
available at the train
originating station. It has, however, been observed that at some locations manual
reservation quota is still being operated despite provision of computerised PRS
facility there.
It is desired that wherever manual reservation quota is being operated
(except special quota like Emergency Quota, Defence Quota, Foreign Tourist
Quota etc.) even after provision of computerised PRS facility, the same may be
withdrawn immediately and merged with reservation quota of the nearest remote
location or that available at the train originating station under intimation to this
office. Even if, no such quota has been provided, a reply indicating NIL position
may be sent to this office.
