Sub: Amendment in Note (2) of Rule no. 401.2(a) of IRCA Coaching Tariff No. 26
Part I (Volume 1) under the head charges for running of special trains.

The existing provision in Note (2) of Rule no. 401.2(a) of IRCA Coaching Tariff No. 26
Part I(Volume I) under the head charges for running of special trains shall be substituted as
follows:-

“As an exemption for the purpose of calculating point to point charges and detention
charges for special trains, special free halts for entraining/detraining of passengers, collection of
water/eatables, etc. at enroute station/stations shall be provided. The number of special free halts
permitted shall be maximum of 2 (Two) in each block of 1000 Kms journey or part thereof. Each
halt shali be for a maximum duration of 20 minutes only. These free halts and the Railways
operational halts if any shall not be considered for calculating to point to point charges and
detention charges

Further to above, additional halts/stoppages upto two minutes shall be permitted at the rate
of Rs. 25,000/- per halt/stoppage. In case halt/stoppage is of more than two minutes, “point to
point. charges plus applicable detention charges” or Rs. 25,000 per halt, whichever is more, shall
be levied, The number of such paid halts/stoppages shall not be more than three (03) in each
block of 1000 kms journey or part thereof.

The above halts/stoppages shall be allowed only when the party request for them while
submitting the application for itinerary for the special train

Beyond the above halt/stoppage limits, no additional halt/stoppages shall be provided for
running of special trains.”

The above shall be implemented w.e.f. 01.12.2015.

This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Dte. of the Ministry of Railways.

Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately,
