Please refer to Board's letter of even number dated 7.04.99
(Commercial Circular No, 5) and correction slip to this circular dated
12.7.99 on the above noted subject wherein the authority for purchasing the
ticket under tatkal scheme was advised.
A suggestion was received from Southern Railway that the Ration
Card with photo graph may be accepted as a proof of identity for purchasing
the ticket under tatkal scheme as a vast majority of rail users who patronize
sleeper class train service belong to midd fe and lower middle class strata of
the society and most of the citizens malting use of the sleeper class service
are not affluent enough to own credit card etc.
The matter has been exainived in the Ministry-ef Railways(Railway
Board) and it has been decided that in addition to the ofher proof of identily
us indiested in the above mentioned letters , Ration Card with Photograph
may be accepted for purchasing the ticket under tatkal scheme. However,
this facility will be available only if the person whose photograph is
appearing on the Ration Card is also travelling. This may be brought to the
notice of all concerned. Due publicity should be given for information. of the
travelling public.

लिप पहचान के प्रमाण के रुप में फोटोग्राफ वाला राशन कार्ड स्वीकार किया जाए ब्योंक्ि अधिकांश रेल
उपयोगकर्त्ता जो शयनयान श्रेणी में. यात्रा करते हैं , सयाज के मध्यम तथा Bearer श्रेणी के होते
हैं तथा शयनयान श्रेणी में यात्रा करने बारी आधिकांश नागरिक इससे age नहीं होते हैं कि उनके
पास अपने फ्रेडिट कार्ड ante हो-

गया है कि तत्काल योजना के अंतिगति टिकटों की ade के लिए बोर्ड के उपर्युक्त पत्रीं में उत्लिखित
पहचान के अन्य प्रमाणों के अतिरिक्त फोटेग्राफ वाले राशन कार्ड थी स्वीकार करिए जाएँ « लेकिन, यह
सुविधा केवल तभी उपलब्ध होगी ale वह व्यक्ति शी यात्रा कर रहा ही roar Wane राशमकाईई
