Felemax No, FCIV2003/2000/Policy dated 28.11.2001(Commercial Circular No. B2 of
_ 2001) and existing rules for refund of Security Deposit for booking of Special Coaches
and Trains contained In Chapter Ill & M of IRCA Coaching Tariff No. 25, Part! (Vol. ही,
Ministry of Railways have now decided to enhance the Normal period for claiming of
refund of security deposit from the existing limit of 15 days to 6 months (.] For
applications submitted after expiry of time limit of & months, GMs will have full powers te
sattie time barred claims for refund of Security deposits in consultation with their
FA&CAOs (.} The outer time limit for entertaining such refund clairns will be subject to a
maximum tirne frame of three years (.) These instructions will be applicable from the
daie of Issue {.} Past cases will be decided by the zonal raliways based on avaiiabiiity
of records (.) The refund wil, however, continue to be granted efter deducting any
amount due from the party {.) This issues with the concurrence of the Finance
Directorate of the Miristry of Railways (.} Necessary instructions may be issued to all
