Sub: Extension of e-ticketing Scheme.
Please refer to this office letter of even number dated
22.12.2004 (Commercial
Circular No.49 of 2004) regarding launching of e- ticketing scheme as pilot project. The
. schemewas initiallylaunchedon two New Delhi.-KalkaShatabdiExpresstrainsw.e.f.
12-08-2005. The Scheme was further extended in Shatabdi Express trains starting ftom
New Delhi w.e.f 15.9.2005 and on certain Rajdhani Express/Shatabdi Express trains w.e.f
5.11.2005.

The matter has been further reviewed and it has been decided that the scheme
may be further extended on all RajdhanilShatabdi/Jan Shatabdi Express and all other
superfast trains w.e.f 1.1.2006.

Necessary arrangements may be made accordingly. Suitable instructions may be
issued to all the staff concerned both at the train originating and enroute stations and also
the train manning staff about the salient features of the scheme so that no inconvenience
is caused to the bonafide passengers. The detailed features of the scheme can also be seen
on the website of IRCTC i.e. www.irctC.co.inWide publicity should be given by IRCTC
and zonal railways about the scheme for the information of general public.
Staff
involved in harassment of e-ticket users should be dealt with strictly and ensuring no
complaints on account of ignorance of the scheme particularly by ticket checking staff.
