Sub: Re-activation of Service Improvement Groups Monitoring of
Passenger Amenities on trains, al stations and handling of
public complain!

MR has laid a great emphasis for amenities on trains and stations and handling
of complaints

Board had constituted three level SIG Committee fo inspect all the amenities at
stations and on trains. These were constituted at the headquarters level, divisional level
and station tevel. it has been observed that these SIG Commiljee have become
defunct. These should be fully activated on your Railway with immediate effect

PC systems have been provided on all Zonal Railways, Divisional headquarters
and 150 ‘A’ class important stations for monitoring deficiencies, This system monitors
amenities on trains, at stations and passenger complaints. The training has been given
to all Zonal Railway staff as well as software has been modified.

On inspection of the field in few divisions by Railway Board officials it has been
observed that Sr.OCMs are not taking any interest in the system which is a very
important toal for monitoring quality of passenger amenities

Thus, with immediate effect on your Railway :

(a) IG should be activated

stations and public complaints should provide input to IG for-monitoring the
quality of service

(c) 1G, should take effective steps to rectify the shortcomings.

(9) Computerised system developed for menitoring the amenities on trains, at;

Feedback may be sent to Railway Board in above respect so that position can be
put up to MR.
