Sub: Extension of facility of booking of accommodation in
Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Sahatabdi Express trains against
general quota on the authority of Complimentary Card
Passes issued to Padam Shree Awardees.

Please refer to this office letter of even number dated 22/05/2008
(Commercial Circular No.35 of 2007) extending therewith the facility of
reservation across the counter to Ashok Chakra awardees from the General
Quota in Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains on the authority of First/2nd
AC complimentary card passes issued to them for travel in 2nd AC/3rd AC of
Rajdhani Express and Chair Car (CC) of Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi Express trains
along with a companion in the same class.
The issue regarding extending the same facility on the complimentary
card passes issued to Padam Shree awardees has been examined and it has
been decided that on the complimentary card passes issued to recipient of
Padam Shree awardees in their capacity as awardees which are valid for travel
in Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi Express trains, reservation can be done in
Rajdhani/Shatabdi Express/ Jan Shatabdi Express Trains against general quota
in the class they have been permitted to travel. At present only two Padam
Shree awardees have been issued such complimentary card passes i.e. Shri
Ustad Gulam Mustafa Khan and Ms. Santosh Yadav. An indication to the
effect that these passes have been issued in their capacity as Padam Shree
awardees has been made on their passes. E&RC issuing tickets in
Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi Express trains from general quota against
these passes should check this aspect before issuing ticket.
Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned for compliance
and receipt of this letter may please be acknowledged.
