(Commercial Circular No.47 of 2005) Sub: Amendments in Tatkal Scheme. Please refer to Board's letter of even number dated 26/08/2004 (Commercial Circular No.33 of 2004) wherein the revised Tatkal scheme was intimated. Certain provisions of the revised Tatkal scheme were amended vide this office letter of even number dated 03/11/2005 (Commercial Circular No.44 of 2005). In continuation of the letter of even number dated 03/11/2005, it has been decided as under: - (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) In those trains and classes where the utilisation of Tatkal accommodation is 75% or more during the months of May and June 2005, the Tatkal reservation quota may be enhanced from the existing 10% to 20%. However, sleeper class Tatkal quota will be enhanced from existing 10% to 15% only in such trains. Wait list tickets may be issued in Tatkal scheme to the extent of Tatkal quota earmarked. PRS Software for this provision is under development by CRIS and will be released shortly. Unutilised quotas released at the time of preparation of chart i.e. HOR, Defence, Foreign Tourists etc. will be used for clearance of Tatkal wait list on priority. This software modification is also being done by CRIS shortly. Consequent to the advance reservation period for tatkal having been enhanced to 3 days, the berths under Tatkal scheme will also be brought on Internet for booking for which IRCTC is making necessary provision. Extra coaches may be added to the. extent possible in popular trains where utilisation of Tatkal quota is more than 75% so as to increase overall accommodation in the trains. Necessary action may be taken immediately to implement the above items.
