(Commercial Circular No. 47 of 2000) Sub: Granting of permission to waitlisted children to travel along with family/party in Rajdhani Express. परी मे पी के As per extant rules only passengers having confirmed/RAC accommodation are permitted to travel in Rajdhani/Shatabdi Express train. The waitlisted passengers even if members of the same party are not allowed to undertake the journey. Waitlisted passengers on detection are required to pay penalty charges as per extant rules. In this connection a reference was received from Southern Railway with a request to review the matter to allow waitlisted child/children between age of 6 and 12 years travelling by Rajdhani/Shatabdi Express trains to accompany their parents without payment of any penalty charges. Accordingly the matter has been reviewed and ‘it has been decided that when a family/party travelling by Rajdhani Express train having a partially confirmed ticket in which the wait-listed passenger(s) is/are only the children below the age of 12 years and the party/parents intend to take these wait-listed child/children in the train along with them by sharing the accommodation without asking for any bedroll, etc., these child/children may be permitted to travel by Rajdhani Express train without payment of any penalty. This clause shall, however, not be applicable in Shatabdi Express trains. Catering would be provided to such wait-listed child/children who wish to share berth with their parents, etc Necessary instructions may be:issued to all concerned in¢luding TCs/TSs to keep a record of such wait-listed children travelling by Rajdhani Express trains. The feedback in this regard indicating the number of such passengers travelled and other relevant details for the period w.e.f.
