Central Ticket CheckingSquad of RailwayBoard is functioning as a specialist
body in coordinating the ticket checking activities as also in detecting ticketing frauds.
The squad also gains importance due to the utmost necessity of monitoring and
.coordinatingvariousfieldfunctions.Inaddition,th~ ticketcheckingstaffof this squad is
also used for monitoring on-board services for bringing about overall improvement in
the on-board services commensurate with the increasing expectations of the travelling
public.
2. The above duties entail a lot of responsibility and field knowledge which can only be
gathered through long years of working on the Railways.There is a requirement of ticket
checking staff having sizeable experience in ticket checking, for working in the CTC
squad on attachment basis.
They will continue to draw their pay and allowances from
their HQwhile working inthe squad.
3. In supersession of the instructions contained in the above referred letters dated
16.7.2002 and 12.12.2002, the eligibilitycriteria for ticket checking staff to work in CTC
squad, willnow be as under:-
(i)
Should be in the grade pay of ~ 4200/- or above and should have worked for
minimum period of three years in the ticket checking cadre in the grade pay
of ~ 4200/- (VlthCPC);
(ii)
Should be clear from SPE,Vigilanceand D&ARangle;
(iii)
Must be courteous
in his behaviour but firm and tactful
in dealing with
passengers;
(iv)
Should have an aptitude and flair for conducting checks regarding on-board
services;
Should have fairly good knowledge of rules and instructions issued from time to
time and its application;
(vi)
Should have an ability to draft and submit brief reports; and
(vii)
Should not have worked inthe CTCsquad of RailwayBoard in the past.

4. Inaddition,a ceiling limit of maximum 05 (five) ticket checking staff from one zonal
railway working in the CTCsquad at a time is also fixed, which may be kept in view while
sendingthe applications.
5. It is, therefore, requested that the applications of interested and suitable eligible
ticket checking staff who fulfil the above prescribed eligibility norms, along with their
D&AR/Vigilance/SPEclearance should be sent with the personal approval of the CCMof
the Zonal Railwayto this office for consideration so asto reach latest by 06.10.2010.
5.1 Sincethe eligibilitycriteria have been revised, the applications already forwarded to
Railway Board in accordance with the previous letters dated 16.7.2002 and 12.12.2002,
are not being considered.
