Zonal Railways were advised to themselves declare a train as Superfast for the
purpose of levying superfast surcharge, if it fulfils the requisite speed criteria advised
_ vide Board’s letter No. TC11/2910/85/SF dated 13.9.1993 (.) Some Zonal Railways have
however not declared a few trains as superfast despite their fulfilling the requisite speed
criteria (.) Since the 3704 थ व
superfast surcharge tickets have been reduced by 75% w.e.f. 15.2.06 vide letter
No. TCW2001/03/STPolicy dated 12.13.2006, Board desires that Zonaj Railways
may ensure that trains which fulfil the requisite speed criteria are, without
surcharge levied for 2५०! on such tralns (.) Necessary instructions may be issued
to all concerned immediately and implementation ensured (.) This issues with the
concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Raitways (.) This disposes off Eastern
Railway's letters No. C.194/O/Supple-charge/BF dated 20.1.04, 1.4.05, & 12.12.05 (.)
