As already advised vide Board’s letter referred to above, a pilot project has been launched on Northern Railway for concession based ticketing through counters as well as internet (online booking) for the physically challenged persons using Photo Identity Card with unique ID number issued by the Railway. 2. Pursuant to the Budget Announcement of the Hon’ble MR during presentation of the Railway Budget 2015-16, it has now been decided by Board to launch this Scheme on all Indian Railways which will enable the physically challenged persons to book concessional reserved tickets across PRS counters, e-ticket/i-ticket through IRCTC website and also concessional unreserved tickets across the UTS counters throughout the country on the authority of Photo Identity Card (which will be uniquely numbered) to be issued by the Railways. The detailed procedure to be followed for implementation of the Scheme along with a specimen of the Photo Identity Card are enclosed herewith. 3.
