Sub: Doctors on Duronto Trains — Pilot Project.

Please refer to this office letter of even number dated 17.02.2010 (Commercial
Circular No.10 of 2010) regarding earmarking of two berths i.e. berth Nos.1 & 3 in A-1
Coach of Duronto Express Trains for Doctors and their staff.

References have been received from South Central, South Eastern and Western
Railways seeking directions from Board’s office for deviation from the instructions

referred to above and earmarking berth Nos.49 & 50 or berth Nos.7 & 8 for Doctors and

their staff in Duronto Express Trains.

The matter has been examined in consultation with Health Directorate of
Ministry of Railways and it has been decided as under:-

(i) In all Duronto Express trains having new rakes with capacity of 52 berths
in 2 AC, berth Nos.49 & 50 in A-1 Coach will be earmarked for Doctors
and their staff.

(ii) In all Duronto Express trains having conventional rakes with capacity of
46 berths in 2 AC, berth Nos.43 & 44 in A-1 Coach will be earmarked
for Doctors and their staff. As soon as conventional rakes are replaced
by regular rakes, Zonal railways should change these berths from 43&44
to 49&50.

(iii) | Those Railways who have earmarked these berths for some other
reservation quota may shift that quota to some other suitable berths and
define the above mentioned berths for Doctors and their staff.

Railway’s letter No. C 518/R/2285-2286 dated 23.2.2010 & 09.3.2010 and S.E.
Railway’s letter No. Resv/36/6-2262/2261 dated 10.3.2010)
