Sub: Discount scheme on the vacant seats in trains having
_ sitting accommodation of AC Chair Car and Executive class.
Ref:- Board’s Commercial Circular No. 40 of 2019 dated 27.08.2019,
Vide Board’s letter No.TC-II/2910/2016/Discounted Fares dated 27.08.2019
(Commercial Circular No. 40 of 2019), powers were delegated to Principal Chief Commercial
Managers of Zonal Railways to introduce discounted fare scheme in trains with sitting
accommodation of AC Chair Car and EC, subject to certain terms and conditions. The scheme
was to be implemented by 30.09.2019/with effect from the applicable Advance Reservation
Period for the train on an experimental basis for an initial period of six months.
2. The matter has been reviewed and the Ministry of Railways has now decided to extend the
validity of the instructions for a further period of six months i.e. 30.09.2020.
3. Other terms and conditions shall remain the same.
4, This issues with the concurrence of Finance(Commercial) Directorate of the Ministry of
Railways. -
