ESE Hp/desktop/B/Letter_2010 Correction slip No. 24 to Indian Railways Commercial Manual Vol.I Para 618 may be revised as under: Para 618 may be revised as under:- The following procedure should be adopted for placing of indent for attachment of additional coach in train to clear waiting list:- 618: Clearance of wait-listed passengers - When the demand for reserved accommodation by any train is in excess of the actual availability as per normal train composition, the Assistant Commercial Manager (Reservation) or any other officer nominated by the administration at the Headquarters office should contact his counterpart in the operating branch for augmenting the train composition, if possible. A similar procedure should be followed at the Divisional level where the Divisional Commercial Manager or the Astistant Commercial Manager should watch the waiting list and initiate action for making additional accommodation available in consultation with the officer concerned in the operating branch, It is important that the planning and implementation of attaching extra coaches to trains should be-done sufficiently in advance so that the public may have as long a notice as possible of the additional accommodation being made available.
