(Railway Board) an Qh: ं Wew Delhi,dt .2,2001 1 Commercial Directorate न Policy Circular No.12 of 2001 Sub: Basis for Retiring Rooms Charges Vv दर | ४ As per extant instructions issued vide Board’s letter of even no. dt. 2.12.1997 and a छू 6.3.1998, charges’ for retiring rooms are since been collected on “ Per room” basis. _-~ South Eastern Railway has pointed out that the charges for retiring, rooms on “Per room” . basis is resulting in poor occupancy of retiring rooms especially at relatively unimportant — stations since.single passengers are generally unwilling to pay for the full room.. This is having adverse effect on the earning for the railway. Therefore, §.E.Railway has requested Board to review the policy and permit the Divisions to-eharge retiring rooms on 7 * Per Bed” basis wherever justified with the personal approval of DRM. . Such charging न of “ Per Bed” should be an exception and not a rule. a “ The matter has been examined in consultation with finance directorate of Board’s - Office and it has been decided that no review of policy is required. However, it is clarified that in relatively unimportant railway stations where in a double bedded or triple bedded room, a single bed is allotted, the single bed charges should be realised @ 60% of the tariff of double bedded room and 40% in case, a single bed is allotted in triple bedded room. However, the names of the stations where this facility is provided will be decided with the personal approval of the DRM concerned. . a This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Board’s office.
