Sub: Extension of waiting list limit.
Please refer to this office letter no.2003/TG-I/20/P dated
10.10.1997 & 03/06.10.2003 wherein the following current waiting list
" has been prescribed for different classes:-
ist AC/EC - 30
2AC न 100
15. Class - 30
3AC/Chair Car - 300* *75 in case one AC 3-Tier/CC
running in train
Sleeper Class - 400
1.1 For those trains which do not have any stoppage enroute, the
maximum waiting list limit for Sleeper Class has been prescribed as 150
as against 400.
2. It has now been decided that extension of prescribed. waiting list
limit will be done by zonal Railways as per the following guidelines:-
i) Extension of prescribed waiting list limit will be done —
judiciously by zonal Railways in exceptional circumstances
like movement of HOR holders/MPs/VIPs,. security
personnel like NSG/SPG/other Government servants going
on duty or for other passengers who are to move at short
notice owing to emergencies.
ii) For extension of Waiting List upto 10 passengers per
occasion after displaying of “Regret” in the system, Chief
Reservation Supervisor/Reservation Supervisor should be
authorised. Beyond this level, zonal Railways will

ptescribe the authority {not below the level of a SA grade
officer-CCM/CCM(PS)/CCM(PM)}, who can grant such
permission,
iii) A record of such permissions granted indicating the
- + gomplete details along with reasons should be maintained.
iv) This record should be monitored by a nominated authority
who will review it on monthly basis.
v) CRIS will build in system controls for this purpose,
Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned.
