Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state: 
 
(a) the details of schemes and awards offered under Rajbhasha; 
 
(b) the details of significant outcomes achieved under the Scheme; 
 
(c) whether there is a similar scheme run by Government for other languages 
recognized by the Indian Constitution; and 
 
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The details of awards schemes/incentive schemes being run by the 
Department of Official Language are given at  Annexure-1. Steps have been taken 
by 
the 
Department 
of 
Official 
Language 
to 
promote 
Hindi 
in 
the 
Ministries/Departments of the Central Government. Hindi is being promoted in the 
Ministries/Departments through motivation, encouragement and technology. The 
above mentioned awards are being given by the Department of Official Language 
at the National/Regional/Individual level every year for those who do excellent 
work in Hindi, which motivates them to work in Official Language.    
 
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Official 
Language in recent years,  steady  progress  has been noticed in the use of Hindi in

the official work by the Ministries/Departments. The Annual Assessment Report 
pertaining to the compliance of the Annual Program is laid every year on the Table 
of both the Houses of Parliament.

Rajbhasha Kirti Awards Scheme  
 
Under the Rajbhasha Kirti Award Scheme, every year shields are awarded to various 
Ministries/Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Nationalised Banks, Boards/Autonomous 
Institution, Town Official Language Implementation Committees, House Magazines for their 
outstanding achievements in promoting the Official Language Policy of the Government, whose 
details are as follows:

2.1 Rajbhasha Gaurav Original Book Writing Award Scheme (For Central Government Officials)   
 
Under this scheme, awards are given for writing original books in Hindi to serving or retired personnel in 
the Central Government. The details of the award are as follows:

₹75,000, a Certificate and a memento 
Third Prize 
₹60,000, a Certificate and a memento 
 
2.2 Rajbhasha Gaurav Original Book Writing Award Scheme (For Citizens of India)   
 
Under this scheme, awards are given for writing original books in Hindi to the Citizens of India. The details 
of the awards are as follows:

2.3 Rajbhasha Gaurav Award Scheme for excellent articles published in journals and magazines by 
Central Government officials. 
 
Under this scheme, awards are given to the officers/employees of the Central Government for excellent 
articles published in journals and magazines. Under this scheme, authors of excellent articles are given 
three awards in two categories – i.e. Hindi and Non Hindi, whose details are as follows:
