Public Siding: A Public siding is a Railway siding laid out at a distance from the serving
Railway Sidings Types of Sidings: (1) Private (2) Assisted (3) Public & (4) Defence Private siding: A siding laid out to serve either a Govt. Department, factory, mill of other industrial prernises other than a colliery or a Mining, which are under a special agreement. Assisted siding: A siding laid with the financial assistance of the Railways, with a commitment of 10 years or more traffic fram the industry. Public Siding: A Public siding is a Railway siding laid out at a distance from the serving station or goods shed. These sidings are generally opened for both inward and outward traffic and can be used by all consignors! consignees, desires using the same, Defence Siding: A Siding laid for the conveyance by Railway for Defence traffic. These sidings function as per the guidelines, instructions issued by the Ministry of Railways from time to time. Nodal Agency from inception stage to Operations ion stage to Operations 4. The Chief Traffic & Planning Manager (CTPM) is the Nodal Officer for the Pre- Construction stage of the siding. 2. In addition, Chief General Engineer (CGE) will also be Nodal Officer thorough out the construction stage including activities for approval of plans and sanctioning of Estimate. 4 The Chief Commercial Manger/FS (CCMIFS) will be the Nodal Officer after Commissioning of the siding and will sign the siding agreement with siding authonties. Requirements for Commissioning of the Siding: Once the siding is ready for commissioning with the recommendations of Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager and after obtaining track fitness certificate from Divisional Engineering Branch and execution of siding Agreement by party & CTPM, Notification for opening of the siding will be issued by Commercial Department. Alphabetical and Numerical codes of the siding will be notified, Haulage requirement of the siding will be notified on adhoc basis. Total number of sidings on South Central Railway- 105 South Central Railway- 105 On this Zone the total No. of private sidings are 89; Assisted- 13; Public 1, Defense -2. On this Zone the total No. of through Distance Basis 64; Not on through Distance Basis 21. Provision of Co-user facility: No traffic or outward other than that of the applicant work shall at any time be sent over the siding by the applicant except with the prior written permission of the Railway Administration. The Apolicant ts forbidden to assign, transfer or sublet in any manner what so ever eitherWwhole or any part of the siding without prior written permission of the Railway Administration. The booking and delivery of traffic of a Co-user of the siding shall be governed by the same rules and regulations as applicable to the siding owner as far as levy of freight and other charges are concemed. Closure of Sidings: When there is a request for closure cf siding from the siding owner or when there is no traffic on the siding, closure notice will be issued to the siding owner, 50 that all the dues are cleared. When a “No due certificate" is issued by the division, Commercial elosure notification is issued and the siding is treated as closed for all descriptions of traffic. The list of sidings together with the traffic for which each siding is open as also the siding charges leviable is published by individual Railway Administrations in their local tariffs.
