| In addition to the prevention of the ticketless and other irregular travel the following type of checks are conducted to ascertain the percentage of ticketless and other irregular travel obtainable on each section or spot. |
| 1. Spot check. 2. Concentrated section check. 3. Cross country or surprise check by road (Mobile Check) 4. Ambush check raids. 5. Magisterial check. 6. Replacement check. 7. Fortress check. 8. Massive operational check. 9. CRB Check. |

| TYPE OF CHECK | SPOT CHECK |

| OBJECTIVE | To eradicate the Ticket Less Travellers & to assess the percentage of Ticket Less Travellers |
| DESCRIPTION | This check is arranged at a station or spot concentrating a large number of staff or checking, which includes TTEs, Hawkers and Beggars checkers, Raksha's and GRP/RPF. As per Railway Board`s order, this check should be arranged for one calendar date and for 24 hours. However due to paucity of staff, this check can be hold at a station covering a minimum of 3 trains passing such a spot. Census of trains subjected to check is to be recorded along with the occupation on the day of check. During such a check all passengers in the trains are thoroughly checked. The following particulars are to be furnished to the office after the check is over. |
| PLACE/DURATION | Particular Station /Not less than 8 hours & up to 24 hours. |
| PROCEDURE | Census of passengers travelling by each train during the check along with the percentage of ticket less travellers is recorded |
| STATEMENTS | Date, Station, & Duration. No. of trains checked, No. of cases, & Amount realized. No. of persons prosecuted. No. of TTE/RPF/GRP participated. CC of the train Actual No. of passengers travelling by each train & percentage of ticket less travellers. |
| REMARKS | If the percentage of Ticket Less Travellers is more than 3% , it is a BAD SPOT |

| OBJECTIVE | To determine the level of the section with the standard section in all purpose |
| DESCRIPTION | This check is arranged on a standardized section of a railway covering a period of 3 days or for a minimum 24 hours covering all trains running on the section. The staff is deputed on each bogie of each train running on this section to ensure that no passenger is travelling without or with irregular ticket therein. |
| PLACE/DURATION | Particular section /Not less than 12 hours |
| PROCEDURE | Census of the trains is recorded Total train /Kms (i.e. Distance x No. of trains) is calculated. The average earnings per TTE per Km. is worked out and compared with the average earnings of regular TTEs working in the section .i.e. Average earnings per TTE per Km = Fare + EC + UBL No. of TTE x Train Kms. |
| STATEMENTS | Section Name & Duration. No. of cases detected & Amount realized. No. of persons prosecuted & its results. Average earnings per TTE per Km. No. of staff engaged and expenditure incurred |
| REMARKS | The average earnings of the TTEs are compared with the sectional TTEs and if the difference is considerably high it is declared as a BAD SECTION. |

| OBJECTIVE | To eradicate TLT & to give a surprise to the passengers as well as the train staff. |
| DESCRIPTION | This is purely a surprise check conducted on a bad section, where it is known that the ticketless or irregular travel is on a high side or is connived at by the staff working on the trains. A large number of the ticket checking staff accompanied by RPF and GRP personnel travel by road either by Bus or any other conveyance to a particular spot and subjected to the intended train to a surprise check.
