(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub section (2) of section 87 and section 67 of the Railways Ac, 19 9 (24
of 1989), the Central Government hereby makes the following further to amend the Railways Red Tariff Rules, 2000, namely:-
l.
Short title and commencement, ( I) These rules may be called the Railways Red Tariff (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2.
In the Red Tariff Rules, 2000 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in opening portion, for the words, brackets, letter and figures
"section 67 and section 87", the words and figures "clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 87 read with section 67" shall be substituted.
3.
In the said rules, in rule 2, after clause (a), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-
" (aa) "ADN" means the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways;
(ab) "ADR" means the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, including all special
agreements signed by those states involved in the transport operation."

In the said rules, in ~le 2, ~fter clause (d), the !11owing clause shall be inserted, namely:-
" (da) "COT[f" means the Convention concerning International Carriage by Rail."
5.
In the said rules, in rule 2, after clause (f), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-
" (fa) "!BC" means intermediate bulk containers;
(fb) "[CAO" means the International Civil Aviation Organisation;
(fc) "[MDG" means the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, for the implementation of Chapter Vll, Part A, of the
International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (SOLAS Convention), published by the International Maritime
Organization."

In the said rules, in rule 2, after clause (o), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-
" (oa) "Red Tariff" means Red Tariff Number 20 published by the Central Government vide number GSR 266, dated 15th
July2000;
(ob) "RFID" means Radio Frequency Identification;
(oc) "RID" means Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail given in Appendix-C of
COTCF."
7.
In the said rules, in rule 2, after clause (q), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-
" (qa) "Table" means Tables annexed to these rules."
8.
In the said rules, in rule 2, after clause (r), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
" (ra) "UN Number'' means the four-figure identification number of the substance or article raken from the United Nation Model
Regulations."
9.
In the said rules, in rule 3, sub-rule ( I) after clause (viii), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
" (ix) Miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles"
10.
In the said rules, in Chapter CT, under heading GASES, COMPRESSED, LIQUEFIED OR DISSOLVED UNDER PRESSURE, after
Table II, the Table IIA shall be inserted, namely:-
