Sub: Issue of passes/PTOs to Railway servants under suspension.

In terms of clause 19 ही) of Schedule Vil of of Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition, 1993), Passes/PTOs may be granted to Railway servants under suspension in exceptional circumstances and not as a matter of course when the Railway servant is permitted to leave the station by an authority not lower than. that which suspended him Sub-clause (v) of clause (19) provide that dependent relatives and family mernbers may be included in the passes issued during the period of suspension. However, there is no provision in the said clause 19 to issue Passes/PTOs independently in favour of dependent relative and family members, who can only be included in the passes if granted to Railway servant under suspension,

2, On receipt of a query from one of the Zonal Railway regarding issue of passes in favour of family members / dependent relatives only of a railway employee, who is under suspension and not allowed to leave the station, the matter has been considered by Railway Board and it has been decided that when a railway servant under suspension is’ not permitted to leave the station, Special Passes within the limit prescribed in sub clause (ii) of clause (19) of Schedule VII of of Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition, 1993) may be issued in favour of dependent relatives and family members on the request of railway servant under suspension.

3. In view of the above decision, Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition, 1993) may be amended as per Advance Correction Slip No. 50 as enclosed.

In the Advance Correction Slip No. 50 the authority under which the Advance Correction Slip was is. ued has inadvertently been left out. It is, therefore, advised that! following line may be inserted below the Advance Correction Slip No. 50:-
