This office letter No.E(W)2009/FU-l/4 dated 17-8-2009.

Sanction of the Ministry of Railways is hereby communicated to per capita contribution ofRs.500/- to Staff Benefit Fund for the year 2010-11 and distribution of this amount as follows :- Head/Activity

(I) General activities:

(i) (a)(I) Education (a)(2) Scholarship for higher education of Girl children of staffin grade pay RS.I ,800/- and below (@Rs.I,2001- p.m.)

(a)(3) Scholarship for higher education of Male children of staff in grade pay RS.l ,800/- and below (@ RS.I ,000/- p.m.)

(b)Recreation other than sports

(c)Promotion of Cultural Activities (d)( I)Rel ief of distress, sickness, etc.

(d)(2) Relief of distress, sickness, etc. for staff in grade pay RS.l ,800/- and below.

(e) Women empowerment activities including'higher education for girls (f)Miscellaneous

(ii) Sports activities

(iii) Scouts activities

(iv) Indigenous system of medicine including Homeopathy

(v) Immediate relief in times of crisis arising out of natural calamities

(vi) Training for developing occupational. skills of physically/mentally challenged wards especially girls of railway employees.

With regard to item-(i)(d)(2), viz.

allocation for 'Relief of distress, sickness, etc. for staff in grade pay Rs.l,800/- and below', this will include . instances of long sickness, extraordinary leave/leave without pay and the need to meet the cost of good prosthetics.

With regard to item-(i)(a) viz. scholarships, besides existing provisions regard re-appropriation, the CSBF committees shall have powers to re-appropriate funds between items

(i)(a)(2) and

(i)(a)(3) depending upon demand.

The preference, however, will be given to girl children.

Other modalities regarding scholarships as already advised vide para-2 this office letter dated 17-8-2009 ibid shall equally apply in such cases.

These orders are effective from 15t April, 2010.

This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
