Subj{ect :- Drawal of House Rent Allowance by husband and wife when both of
them happen to be Railway/Government servants and are residing
in the allotted Railway/Gevernment accommodation.
In terms of Rule 1706(aXi) of the Indian Railway Establishment Code Vol.II/1987
ion House Rent Allowance shall not be granted to a Railway employee if: -
a) he/she does not incur any expenditure on rent for his/her accommodation,
b) he/she occupies accommodation provided by the Government,
c) he/she shares Government accommodation allotted rent free to another
Government servant; .
d) he/she resides in accommodation allottcd to his/her parcnts/son/ daughter by
. the Central Government/State Government, an autonomous public undertaking
| or Semi-Government organisation such as a Municipality, Port Trust,

Nationalised Banks, Life Insurance Corporation of India etc. and
e) his wife/her husband has been allotted accommodation at the same station by
the Central Government/State Government, an autonomous public undertaking
or semi-Government organisation such as municipality, Port Trust etc. whether
he/she resides in that accommodation or he/she resides separately in
accommodation rented by him/her.
It has heen brought to Board’s notice that there are some incidences on the zonal

loyee and has been allotted Government accommodation at the same station, which 15.

Board have taken a serious view of this irregularity and desire that immediate
ition should be taken to rectify such irregularities and also to take necessary steps to
prevent recurrence of stich irregularities. Any violation of the extant codal provisions will
viewed seriously and will be considered as a gross misconduct unbecoming of a
= servant. (075 should take revised declaration from employees. Efforts may also
le made to make necessary recoveries of the house rent irregularly drawn by the
toncerned employees.

किसी रेल कर्मचारी को मकान किराया wen नहीं प्रदान किया जाएगा यबि- 4

(B) वह अपनी वास-सुविधा के लिए किराए पर कोई व्यय नहीं करता है ; हे
(ख) वह सरकार द्वारा उपलब्ध कराई गई वास-सुविधा का अधिभोग करता है ; é
का उसके साथ हिस्सा बटाता है ;
(घ). वह अपने मात्ता-पित्ता/पुत्र/पुत्री को केन्द्रीय सरकार/राज्य सरकार,स्वशासी लोक
उपक्रम या अर्ध सरकारी संगठन जैसे कि नगरपालिका, पत्तन न्यास, राष्ट्रीयकृत
बैंक, भारतीय जीवन बीसा निगम आदि द्वारा आवंटित are सुविधा में निवास करता
है और
(ड) उसकी पत्नी/उसके पति को केन्द्रीय सरकार/राज्य सरकार, स्वशासी लोक उपक्रम
या अर्धसरकारी संगठन जैसे कि नगरपालिका, पत्तन न्यास आदि द्वारा उसी स्थान
पर वास-सुविधा आवंटित की गई है, चाहे वह उस वास सुविधा में निवास करता हो
(1) बह किसी अन्य सरकारी सेवा को आवंटित किराया मुक्त सरकारी वास-सुविधा .

या अपने द्वारा किराए पर ली गई बास-सुविधा में निवास करता हो।
जिनमें रेल कर्मचारी की पत्नी या पति इस तथ्य के बावजूद मकान किराया मत्ता प्राप्त कर रहे
हैं जबकि रेल कर्मचारी की पत्नी/पति भी सरकारी कर्मचारी हैं और उसे उसी स्टेशन पर
सरकारी आवास
