Issue of Identity Cards to Pensioners. Instructions have been issued vide Board’s letter of even number dated 31.01.2002, 26.9.2002 and 29.11.2002 regarding issue of Identity cards to pensioners in the prescribed format on payment of Rs. 10/- payable may be deposited by pensioners at the nearest Railway station/cash office under misc. receipt, and the receipt so received may be sent to respective office along with other documents for issuing the identity card. It has, further, been prescribed that documents may be accepted without attestation, as the originals are already available with Railways in case of doubt for verification. Complaints continue to be received in Board’s office regarding non-issue/inordinate delay in issuing the identity cards to the Railway pensioners. It is reiterated to all concerned that any delay in issuing the identity card/post-retirement complimentary pass to railway pensioners shall be viewed very seriously. Sufficient blank formats for issue of identity cards may be made available to issuing unit to avoid any inconvenience to the pensioners.
