Date of effect of Railway Board’s letter of even number dated 31.5.2001 regarding allotment of appropriate pay scales for Malis . In terms of Railway Board’s letter No. PC-V/97/I/RSRP/1 dt. 16.1.98, Malis in IV CPC scale Rs. 775-1025 in Civil Engineering department were allotted the revised pay scale of Rs. 2650-4000 (IV CPC scale Rs. 800-1150) with effect from 01.01.96. Vide Railway Board’s letter of even number dated 31.5.2001, improved pay scale of Rs. 2650-4000 has been allotted to Malis in IV CPC scale of Rs. 775-1025 working in all other departments at par with that of Malis in identical IV CPC scale working in Civil Engineering Department in Railways with effect from 31.5.2001. The issue of giving effect to Railway Board’s orders dated 31.5.2001 from 1.1.96 instead of 31.5.2001 has been under consideration for some time. It has now been decided that Railway Board’s orders dated 31.5.2001 would be given effect from 1.1.96 instead of 31.5.2001.
