(As per mailing list ) Sub: Grant of Fixed Medical Allowance to widowed/ unmarried/divorced daughters in receipt of Family Pension. References have been received from few Railways regarding grant of FMA to Widowed/Divorced/Unmarried daughters of railway pensioners who are in receipt of family pension after the demise of both the parents. The matter had been under consideration in Board’s office in consultation with Health Dte. and Finance Dte. of Railway Board for quite some time. It has now been ascertained by Health Dte. that Widowed/Divorced/Unmatried daughters of railway pensioners who were already included as dependents when the employee opted for RELHS facility as per Para 612A of IRMM i.e. on his date of retirement or death as the case may be, would get medical facility even after demise of both the primary RELHS card holder and spouse, provided the dependent Widowed/Divorced/Unmarried daughters satisfies all the conditions laid down for being dependent, Therefore, such dependents would be eligible for FMA on fulfillment of all the terms and conditions laid down for grant of FMA vide Board's letter dated 15,09.2009(RBE No. 168/2009). This is in supersession of Board's letter No, PC-V/2011/A/Med/1 dated 07.07.2014. 2. The clarifications issued earlier to SR, BLW & SCR vide Board’s letter dated 27.10.2022, 07.11.2022 and 11.11.2022 respectively will stand repealed/modified.
