Where electric crews, diesel crews and guards for working in Mail / Exp / Loco hauled passenger and suburban trains are booked. All crews like LPM/LPP, Motorman, LPS & ALP are booked through CMS. CMS is used for signing ON and OFF for all the crews. <!-- Slide number: 4 --> # Combined crew booking lobby Nowadays combined crew booking lobbies are outsourced and managed by private parties under contract management system. Before we understand the combined lobby working, needs to know 9 hrs rule and CMS. <!-- Slide number: 5 --> # DUTIES OF CCC( Chief Crew Controller) <!-- Slide number: 6 --> # 9 hours ruleNo. E(LL)/2016/HPC/1 dated 28/11/2016 (RBE No. 143/2016) <!-- Slide number: 7 --> The nature of job of train crew (loco pilot/co-pilot, guard) is hard as they have no regular working hours. Railway pays special attention to provide them predefined proper cycle of duty hours and resting time at out stations as well as at headquarters. Running staff are booked from a crew changing point, after ensuring that they have taken sufficient rest and completed all required trainings and requirements, which are mandatory for safe train operation. CRIS developed software named 'Crew Management System (CMS)', wherein bookings of these sensitive categories of crew are managed. This is monitored at various levels by inspectors and officers. # 09 Hours Rule <!-- Slide number: 8 --> Total duty of a stretch (from ‘sign on’ to ‘sign off’) should not exceed 11 hours. Running duty at a stretch should not ordinarily exceed 9 hours. Such duty may extend further provided the railway administration gives at least 2 hours notice before the expiration of 9 hours. The total duty from ‘sign on’ to ‘sign off’ shall not exceed 11 hours. In case the train does not reach its destination, normal crew changing point or the point where the reliever has been arranged, provided the maximum hours in that trip do not exceed 12 hours. # Working Hours <!-- Slide number: 9 --> # 9 Hours Rule For loco pilots of all Mail/Express trains, the running duty (for the purpose of preparation of links only) should not exceed 8 hours. LP M/E for whom the limit is fixed at 90 hrs. <!-- Slide number: 11 --> Limit of stay away from HQs be fixed at 72 Hrs. Continuous night duty limited to 2 nights after which one full night in bed before being booked again. HQs rest shall be 16 hours irrespective of the duration of the incoming trip.
