Payment of daily allowance in the cities downgraded for the purpose of CCA – Clarification regarding. Some of the zonal Railway have sought clarification for the payment of daily allowance in respect of such cities which have been downgraded on the population basis for the purpose of CCA consequent upon implementation of V CPC’s recommendations. The matter has been considered by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance and it is clarified that in respect of cities which have been downgraded on the basis of population, daily allowance would be paid at the rates applicable to their revised classification notwithstanding the fact that payment of CCA in such places has been allowed to be made on the basis of the old classification.
