Sub:- Procedure for holding selection to the post of Gangmate in Civil Engineering Department.

Reference this Ministry's letter of even number dated 07.08.2003.

2. The Staff Side in the forum of DC-JCM had demanded that for promotion from ‘Keyman’ to ‘Gangmate’ in Civil Engineering Department, requirement of conducting written test may be dispensed with and Railways may revert back to policy in vogue prior to the introduction of Written Test for promotion to the post of Gangmate, i.e.

viva-voce examination.

3. The matter has accordingly, been considered by the Board and it has been decided that selection for promotion to the post of Gangmate in Civil Engineering Department may be made on the basis of procedure in vogue prior to 07.08.2003, i.e.

on the basis of viva-voce examination, instead of existing written test.

3.1. The revised selection procedure will be applicable to selections notified on or after the date of issue of this letter.

3.2. All the remaining provisions as mentioned in this Ministry's earlier letter of even number dated 07.08.2003 read with ACS No.150 issued there-under will remain unaltered.

2. कर्मचारी पक्ष ने डीसी-जेसीएम के मंच में मांग को थी कि सिविल इंजीनियरी विभाग में 'कोमैन' से गैंगमेट के पद पर पदोन्नति के लिए लिखित परीक्षा आयोजित करने की आवश्यकता समाप्त कर दी जाए तथा रेलें गैंगमेट के पद पर पदोन्नति के लिए लिखित परीक्षा को शुरूआत से पहले प्रचलित नीति अर्थात् मौखिक परीक्षा को नीति फिर से अपनाए।

3, तदनुसार, बोर्ड द्वारा मामले पर विचार किया गया है तथा यह निर्णय लिया गया है कि सिविल इंजीनियरी विभाग में गैंगमेट के पद पर पदोन्नति के लिए चयन 07.08.2003 से पहले प्रचलित प्रक्रिया अर्थात् मौजूदा लिखित परीक्षा के बजाय मौखिक परीक्षा के आधार पर किया जाए।

3.1. संशोधित चयन प्रक्रिया इस पत्र के जारी होने को तारीख को अथवा उसके बाद अधिसूचित चयनों पर लागू SPT |

3.2 इस मंत्रालय के दिनांक 07.08.2003 के पूर्ववर्ती समसंख्यक पत्र में यथाउल्लिखित शेष सभी प्रावधान इसके अंतर्गत जारी की गई अग्रिम शुद्धिपची सं. 150 के साथ पठित प्रावधानों के साथ अपरिवर्तित रहेंगे |
