Sub : Freight Incentive Scheme for loading Bagged Consignment in Open and Flat Wagons.

Ref. : Board’s Rates Circular No. 27 of 2016 dated 20.10.2016.

Board has been receiving requests for transportation for bulk goods in jumbo size bags of weight upto 2.5 tonnes. As per above referred Board’s Rates Circular, Commodities should only be loaded in standard bags of up to a maximum of 100 kg.

under the subject Freight Incentive Scheme.

This issue has been examined and the Competent Authority has decided to amend the condition of size of bags offered for transportation laid in Board’s Rates Circular No. 27 of 2016 under Para 1.0(x) (i) as under:

Existing Para 1.0(x) (i): Commodities should only be loaded in standard bags of up to a maximum of 100 kg.

Revised Para 1.0(x) (i): Commodities should be loaded in standard bags of size up to a maximum of 2.5 tonnes only. However, all Standard bags of more than 100 kg., shall be loaded in open wagons only.

All other terms and conditions of Rates Circular No. 27 of 2016 shall remain the same.
