Sub: Guidelines for implementing “Station To Station” Rates (STS).

Ref: Rates Master Circular No. 26 of 2016 and Corrigenda thereto.

1. In terms of Rates Circular No. 26 of 2016, principles for reducing freight rates under Para 3.0 thereof were notified. Under Sub-Para 3.9, it was notified that the maximum percentage of discount under STS shall be upto 30% depending upon the volume of traffic, road rates etc.

2. The matter has been reviewed and the Competent Authority have decided to delete the words “Road Rates” appearing in Sub-Para 3.9 of Rates Circular No. 26 of 2016 dated 29.09.2016.

3. All other terms and conditions of the above Rates Circular shall remain same.

4. These instructions shall come into%&: force w.e.f. 06.01.2020.

5. This issues in with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
