Sub: Adjustment in Base Freight Rates for short lead goods traffic.

Ref: Board’s letter No. TCR/1078/2016/05 dated 13.07.2016 (Rates Circular No. 20 of 2016); dated 15.09.2016 (Rates Circular No 24 of 2016);

dated 31.03.2017 (Rates Circular No 15 of 2017); and dated 30.06.2017 (Rates Circular No 20 of 2017).

1.0 Please refer to Board’s letter of even number dated 30.06.2017 (Rates Circular No 20 of 2017) notifying minimum distance for charge and concession in charging of freight for all traffic booked up to 100 KMs. These instructions are valid up to 30.09.2017.

2.0 The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided that above instructions will continue to remain in force from 01.10.2017 to 31.03.2018.

3.0 All other details of the Rates Circular referred above will continue to apply unchanged.

4.0 This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways. :
