Ref: Board’s letter of even number dated 16 July’2021 (Rates Circular No. 21 of 2021)

1. In terms of above referred Rates Circular, a new entry “Anhydrous Denatured Ethanol” was inserted in the Goods Tariff No.49, Part I (४०.0 as "ACIDS AND ALCOHOLS".

2. Matter has been reviewed, considering the end use of “Anhydrous Denatured Ethanol” as blending with fossil fuels, the Competent Authority has agreed to make a new entry "ANHYDROUS DENATURED ETHANOL (meant for blending with fossil fuels)" as a new sub-head “GREEN FUEL” at page 19 in Group No. 18 (a) as under:

3. It has also been agreed that no Busy Season Charge shall be leviable on the movement of “Anhydrous Denaturéd Ethanol (meant for blending with fossil fuels)”.

4. The responsibility that the movement of “Anhydrous Denatured Ethanol” is meant for blending with fossil fuels shall solely lie with the customer. Any mis-declaration shall attract

levy of penalty as per extent rules ie. Rates Circular No.95 of 2006.

5. All other details of the Goods Tariff No.49 Part I (Vol.II) shall remain unchanged.

6. These instructions shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force till further advice,

7. This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate and with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
