Sub: Adjustment in Base Freight Rates for short lead goods traffic.

Ref: Board’s letter No. TCR/1078/2016/05 dated 13.07.2016 (Rates Circular No. 20 of 2016) and dated 15.09.2016 (Rates Circular No. 24 of 2016)

1.0 Please refer to Board’s Rates Circular under reference notifying reduction of minimum distance for charge and concession in charging of freight for all traffic booked up to 100 KMs. These instructions are valid up to 31.03.2017.

2.0 The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided that concession in charging of freight for all traffic booked up to 100 KMs may be revised as under:

3.0 It has also been decided that minimum distance for charge will remain unchanged i.e. 100 KMs.

4.0 These instructions shall come into force with effect from 01.04.2017 and shall remain in force till 30.06.2017.

5.0 All other details of the Rates Circular under reference will continue to apply unchanged.

6.0 This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
