An analysis of the traffic handled at different good sheds on Indian Railway has revealed that while some of the goods sheds are very busy, leading to frequent restrictions on loading to those goodsheds, other goods sheds in the vicinity of these busy goods sheds remain underutilized. In order that these underutilized (alternate) goodsheds are utilized better and thereby improve loading to and from that area, it has been decided to issue a policy that incentivizes customers in using these alternate goodsheds instead of the busy ones. 2. The busy goods sheds and their alternate goods sheds are enclosed at Annexure l. 3. Board has decided that terminal charges, which is presently @Rs 20 per tonne shall not be levied when traffic is booked to and from these alternate goodsheds. 4. PCOMs in consultation with PCCMs of Zonal Railways may review the list at Annexure I, and may make modifications to the list, subject to the condition that such modification will be valid for a minimum period of one year 5. These instructions will come into force w.e.f. (01.07.2020 and remain valid till further advice. 6. This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Dte and with the concurrence of Finance Dte. of Ministry of Railways.
