Sub: Exemption from mandatory(100%) weighment in case of containerized Import traffic Ref: Rates Circular No.16 of 2013 and Rates Circular No.9 of 2015

In terms of extant guidelines, the dispensation from weighment of containerized Import traffic is permitted only in the case of following three Container Train Operators (CTOs) upto

23.03.2016:

o Container Corporation of India Ltd.

o Gateway Rail Freight Ltd.

The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided to extend the validity of the above- mentioned instructions in the case of above-mentioned three CTOs beyond 23.03.2016 for a further period of six months i.e.upto 23.09.2016. For all other CTOs the dispensation from weighment in case of containerized import traffic is not allowed and Zonal Railways should ensure weighment of containerized import traffic moved by them.

This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Dte. and with the concurrence of
