Sub: Adjustment in Base Freight Rates- Classification of Commodities

Ref: Board’s letter No. TCR/1078/2015/07 dated 16.03.2015 and 20.03.2015 (Rates Circular No. 8 of 2015 and Corrigendum thereto).

1.0 Please refer Board’s letter under reference notifying adjustment in Base Freight Rates with effect from 01.04.2015.

2.1 Sanction of the competent authority is hereby accorded to revise the classification of “Ochre” appearing under the Main Commodity Head- Clay and Sand from Class-150 to Class-120.

2.2 Accordingly the entries “Ochre in lumps; Ochre in powder and Ochre, NOC" may be deleted from Group 7 (a) and be placed in Group No. 7 (b) under the Main Commodity Head- Clay and Sand at Page No. 11 in the Goods Tariff No. 48 Part I (Vol. Il).

3.0 All other details of the Rates Circular under reference will continue to apply unchanged.

4.0 These instructions shall come into effect from 24.11.2016 and shall remain in force till further advice.

5.0 This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
