Sub: Adjustment in Base Freight Rates- Rationalization of Coal & Coke tariff structure.

Ref: Board’s Corrigendum

(i) No. 14 to Rates Circular No. 8 of 2015 (Letter No.

TCR/1078/2015/07 dated 22.08.2016); and

(ii) No. 15 to Rates Circular No. 8 of 2015 (Letter No.

TCR/1078/2015/07 dated 24.08.2016); and

(iii) No. 20 to Rates Circular No. 8 of 2015 (Letter No.

TCR/1078/2015/07 dated 06.07.2017).

1.0 Please refer to Board’s Rates Circulars under reference regarding rationalization of Coal and Coke Tariff Structure and imposition of Coal and Coke Terminal Surcharge (CTS).

2.0 The matter has been reviewed. The competent authority has decided to withdraw the Freight Rates Table, as attached with Corrigendum No 20 to Rates Circular No. 8 to 2015 dated 06.07.2017, for the period from

26.07.2017 to 30.09.2017.

3.0 The competent authority has further decided to rationalize the Coal and Coke Tariff as per the attached Freight Rate Table for the period from 26.07.2017 till 30.09.2017.

4.0 The Freight Rate Table as attached with Corrigendum No 20 to Rates Circular No. 8 to 2015 dated 06.07.2017 shall again come into force w.e.f. 01.10.2017 and shall remain operative till 30.06.2018.

5.0 _ This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
