It: is, however, noticed that while examining © traffic justification for providing additional stoppages to various types of passenger carrying trains, different norms of sale of tickets are taken into account whigh ere not. based on any uniform standard. Ministry of Railways have, therfore, considered this aspect and desire that the sale of tickets for different types of services should be assessed on the basis’ of the following leads:- . 5 Trains:- As Fast. Passenger: od <a a Figures of sale of tickets for distance of 100 kms. and above should be taken into agecount. B. Long distance Mail/Exp. trains: Figures of sale of tickets for distance of 250 kms. and above should be taken into account. | 3 C.. For long @istance Superfast trains: | Where surcharge is levied (exluding short distence inter city trains) figures of sale of tickets for a distance o 599 kms. and above should be taken into account. The Railways may consider both the sale of tickets as well as the number of tickets collected at the station on the above basis while examining justification for stoppages. Stoppages of short distance inter-city. Express trains and Rajdhani trains at intermediate stations other than those approved at the time of introduction of these trains should be normally ~~---discouraged. - दि “4 Ba However, this does not excluce the possibility of examining ‘ | any proposals on their merit, whenever considered necessary. 4. While deciding upon or recommending the need for a new stoppege of a particular train, apart from the sale of tickets, Zonal Railways should also take into account the population of the town/city concerned, the number of trains already $topping there, convenience of the existing services, any new development taking place in the area as well as criteria laid down in Board's letter of even number dated 11-2-1983, .
