In partial modification of this office letter under reference, the para ‘2’ of 
the above letter may be read as under based on verbatim instruction of Board: 
 
Para 2. “It has been decided to provide STD facility on existing railway telephones 
in the federations’ offices of AIRF and NFIR at New Delhi.  This facility may be 
given at on railway telephone in each of the federations’ offices.” 
 
 
All other directions given in Board’s letter under reference remain 
unchanged.

Sub: PROVISION OF STD FACILITY IN THE OFFICES OF 
FEDERATIONS AND AFFILIATED UNIONS. 
 
 
The issue of provision of STD facility on railway telephone in the offices of 
the two federations and the affiliated unions was under consideration for quite 
some time in the Board. 
 
2. 
It has been decided to provide STD facility on existing railway telephones 
in the federation offices of AIRF and NFIR in New Delhi.  This facility may be 
given in any one railway telephone which has been provided from ’81 level’ 
exhange at DRM office, New Delhi in each of the federation offices. 
 
3. 
At the zonal railway level, STD facility may be given on one railway 
telephone each in the zonal offices of recognized unions, provided surplus 
capacity is available to cater to this additional demand. 
 
4. 
At the divisional level, as and when divisional officers are provided STD 
facility on railway telephone, the same may be extended to one railway telephone 
each in the divisional offices of recognized unions, subject to the availability of 
surplus capacity. 
 
5. 
A report regarding provision of above facilities wherever feasible subject to 
availability of additional capacity may be submitted to the Board at the earliest.  
The receipt of this  letter may be acknowledged.
