Sub: Provision of ¥/2 hour lunch break
for DCRCs working on computer
reservation counters,

Under the PRS, the ECRCs are deputed to work for
six hours on computer terminals although rostered -for
8 hours shift. The roster hours, however, differ from
railway to railway. In the recent past, Railway Board had
issued policy instructions to introduce uniform timings
on computer reservation counters so that the passengers
on various counters in different cities are not
discriminated against in provision of reserved accommodation,
fhe uniform timings as fixed are from 980.) hours to .
2400 hrs. in the first shift and from 1415 hours to
2000 hours in the second shift.

The issue of providing lunch break to ECRCs working

in PRS has been examined by the Railway Board and it has
'* been decided that ¥2 hour lunsh break may be provided in
the rostered duty of the staff working the first shift only
without making any change in the gounter shifts. The
timings of the lunch break may, however, be fixed as
considered suitable by each individual railway. It must,
however, be ensured that computer reservation counters
rem2zin open from 0800 hours to 2900 hours 'ट< 9८ for
15 minutes break at the time of switching over of the

shifts.
