‭Process flow‬‭of‬‭Train Demand‬‭module in‬‭PRIMES‬‭and‬‭ICMS‬‭applications of‬‭CRIS‬‭:‬
‭As‬‭per‬‭extant‬‭practice,‬‭to‬‭fulfill‬‭the‬‭extra‬‭rush‬‭(passenger)‬‭demand‬‭on‬‭different‬‭occasions‬‭(e.g.‬‭KUMBH,‬‭Summer‬‭vacation,‬‭Holi,‬‭Deepawali‬
‭etc.),‬ ‭Zone‬ ‭submit‬ ‭their‬ ‭train‬ ‭trip‬ ‭requirements‬ ‭(special‬ ‭trains,‬ ‭TOD)‬ ‭to‬ ‭the‬ ‭Railway‬ ‭Board‬ ‭(RB)‬ ‭for‬ ‭approval.‬ ‭Post‬ ‭RB‬ ‭approval,‬ ‭the‬ ‭zone‬
‭subsequently notify the train services for Public and Railways.‬
‭To‬ ‭streamline‬ ‭this‬ ‭train‬ ‭trip‬ ‭demand‬ ‭creation‬ ‭and‬ ‭submission‬ ‭to‬ ‭RB‬ ‭by‬ ‭zone‬ ‭and‬ ‭then‬ ‭approval/rejection‬ ‭by‬ ‭the‬ ‭RB,‬ ‭Train‬ ‭Demand‬
‭Utility/Module has been developed by‬‭CRIS‬‭- in‬‭PRIMES‬‭and‬‭ICMS‬‭applications respectively for Commercial and‬‭Operating users.‬
‭1.‬ ‭PRIMES‬‭(‬‭Commercial‬‭Users, Zonal CCM/PM office):‬
‭This‬‭utility‬‭helps‬‭to‬‭estimate‬‭the‬‭number‬‭of‬‭train‬‭trips‬‭needed‬‭for‬‭specific‬‭Origin-Destination‬‭(O-D)‬‭pairs.‬‭Users‬‭can‬‭input‬‭historical‬
‭date‬ ‭ranges‬ ‭(for‬ ‭a‬ ‭reference‬ ‭period)‬ ‭and‬ ‭select‬ ‭O-D‬ ‭pairs‬ ‭from‬ ‭options‬‭such‬‭as‬‭Stations,‬‭Clusters,‬‭Zones,‬‭States,‬‭or‬‭Stations‬‭within‬‭a‬
‭specific‬ ‭KM‬ ‭range‬‭.‬ ‭Based‬ ‭on‬ ‭this‬ ‭information,‬‭the‬‭tool‬‭calculates‬‭the‬‭passenger‬‭demand‬‭and‬‭determines‬‭the‬‭required‬‭number‬‭of‬‭trips‬‭to‬
‭accommodate‬ ‭the‬‭rush.‬‭The‬‭utility‬‭also‬‭factors‬‭in‬‭projected‬‭passenger‬‭growth‬‭percentages‬‭for‬‭PRS‬‭and‬‭UTS‬‭between‬‭the‬‭reference‬‭and‬
‭proposed‬‭periods,‬‭as‬‭well‬‭as‬‭the‬‭option‬‭to‬‭set‬‭the‬‭number‬‭of‬‭reserved‬‭passengers‬‭that‬‭a‬‭single‬‭train‬‭can‬‭accommodate.‬‭This‬‭utility‬‭also‬‭takes‬‭the‬
‭unmet demand of live trains into consideration for demand calculation.‬
‭After‬‭providing‬‭these‬‭inputs,‬‭the‬‭application‬‭will‬‭generate‬‭an‬‭estimated‬‭number‬‭of‬‭train‬‭trips‬‭needed‬‭for‬‭the‬‭selected‬‭O-D‬‭pair.‬‭This‬
‭estimated demand is then sent to‬‭ICMS (Operating)‬‭for review and submission to RB for approval.‬
‭2.‬ ‭ICMS‬‭(a.‬‭Operating‬‭Users, Zonal CPTM office, b.‬‭RB‬‭Users):‬
‭CPTM‬‭office:‬‭On‬‭receipt‬‭of‬‭the‬‭trip‬‭demand,‬‭the‬‭CPTM‬‭office‬‭will‬‭manually‬‭exercise‬‭the‬‭operational‬‭feasibility‬‭and‬‭can‬‭accept‬‭/‬‭modify(+,-)‬‭/‬
‭reject‬‭the trip demand count and provide suitable remarks. Here users can view the coach availability‬‭in its territory as present in the system.‬
‭Post‬‭acceptance‬‭of‬‭the‬‭trip‬‭demand,‬‭the‬‭users‬‭have‬‭to‬‭process‬‭the‬‭demand‬‭and‬‭fill‬‭the‬‭details‬‭as-‬‭train‬‭valid‬‭from‬‭-‬‭valid‬‭to‬‭dates,‬
‭Source‬‭station,‬‭Destination‬‭station,‬‭owning‬‭Railway,‬‭Days‬‭of‬‭Run,‬‭SRC‬‭Dep‬‭Time,‬‭Dest.‬‭Arrival‬‭time,‬‭Primary‬‭Maintenance‬‭Station,‬
‭SM‬‭station,‬‭Trip‬‭route‬‭zone‬‭approval‬‭status,‬‭Rake‬‭Type,‬‭Stock‬‭Source,‬‭Coach‬‭Types,‬‭Composition‬‭Class‬‭and‬‭PTT‬‭stoppage‬‭details‬‭etc.‬
‭Users‬‭can‬‭use‬‭multiple‬‭train‬‭profiles‬‭to‬‭fulfill‬‭the‬‭trip‬‭demands.‬‭Post‬‭submission‬‭of‬‭the‬‭trip‬‭details‬‭the‬‭demand‬‭will‬‭be‬‭available‬‭to‬‭RB‬‭users‬‭for‬
‭approval.‬
‭RB‬‭:‬‭On‬‭receipt‬‭of‬‭the‬‭trip‬‭demand‬‭with‬‭details‬‭the‬‭user‬‭can‬‭accept‬‭/‬‭reject.‬‭If‬‭the‬‭stock‬‭source‬‭will‬‭be‬‭RB,‬‭then‬‭RB‬‭has‬‭to‬‭arrange‬‭the‬‭stock‬‭and‬
‭then approve.‬
‭CPTM‬‭office:‬‭Post‬‭approval‬‭of‬‭demand‬‭by‬‭the‬‭RB,‬‭the‬‭demand‬‭ID‬‭generated‬‭initially‬‭in‬‭PRIMES‬‭will‬‭be‬‭sent‬‭to‬‭SATSaNG‬‭application.‬‭Now‬
‭the‬‭CPTM‬‭office‬‭has‬‭to‬‭Notify‬‭the‬‭train‬‭service‬‭manually‬‭as‬‭per‬‭the‬‭extant‬‭practice‬‭in‬‭respective‬‭zones‬‭including‬‭the‬‭PRIMES‬‭Demand‬‭ID‬‭.‬
‭Post‬‭notification,‬‭the‬‭Time‬‭Table‬‭controller‬‭has‬‭to‬‭feed‬‭such‬‭train‬‭services‬‭into‬‭SATSaNG‬‭and‬‭select‬‭the‬‭PRIMES‬‭generated‬‭Demand‬‭ID‬‭for‬
‭reconciliation of the trip demanded, approved and notified.‬
‭It is mentioned that the MIS reports are available to monitor the current demand status in‬‭PRIMES‬‭and‬‭ICMS‬‭.‬
